When recording breaks the flow
When I play my keyboard, stopping to work the recording software breaks the flow. By the time I find the right button, the idea has gone.
What I built
A small loop recorder for my MIDI keyboard. The AI can start and stop it, play back what I recorded and save it, so I ask in plain words and keep my hands on the keys.
Why build it, when apps exist?
- It is convenient. I ask for what I want instead of hunting through menus.
- It removes friction. Music software has hundreds of options, and this one has only the few I use.
- It was quick to get done, because it does a small job well.
- It fits my way of working, because I stay at the keyboard the whole time.
